In 2012-13, the City of Menifee received a grant for $13,875 as part of the CalRecyle Tire Derived Product Grant Program. The Tire Derived Product Grant Program is intended to encourage public agencies to use California-derived and recycled tire material. The grant program reimburses approved local agencies for the cost of materials of eligible tire derived products.
The City’s approved project included the estimated use of a minimum of 2,500 PTE (passenger tire equivalent) tire material to be be used for the playground resurfacing of:

Lazy Creek Park
To be eligible for reimbursement under the Grant Program, the projects had to be completed before
April 1, 2015.
The three (3) playground resurfacing projects were successfully completed and accepted as complete as of February 17, 2015. Below are pictures of the three completed park projects:
