Menifee, CA– The City of Menifee will host a ribbon cutting event at the newly renamed John V. Denver Park located at 28050 Encanto Drive on Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. Oct. 2 has also been proclaimed Clean Air Day by the City Council, which will be commemorated with a tree planting at the park after the ribbon cutting. New exercise equipment that was donated by the Rotary Club of Menifee will also be unveiled at the event. John V. Denver is a past City Council member who served on the Council during the City’s first 10 years after incorporation. He also worked on the City’s incorporation efforts prior to official incorporation in 2008. “This is a great event that honors our history as a City while also showing our commitment to providing great amenities for our residents,” said Community Services Director, Jonathan Nicks. “Additionally, the City Council and the staff want to show the importance of clean air and sustainability initiatives through the Clean Air Day Proclamation and tree planting.” The outdoor exercise equipment was provided through a donation made to the City at the Sept. 18 City Council meeting from the Rotary Club of Menifee. ”I want to extend a very sincere thank you to our Rotary Club,” said District 4 Councilmember, Dean Deines. “Their dedication to our community continues to show through their generous donation.” For more information, please call our Community Services Department at (951) 723-3880.
