Why Recycle Organics?

Organic waste produces methane gas as it decomposes. Methane is considered to be 82 times more harmful to the environment than carbon dioxide. Organic waste includes food scraps, yard trimmings, paper, and cardboard. State solution? Reduce organic waste in landfills through mandatory recycling for everyone under California Senate Bill 1383, passed in 2016.

How its Made!

Recycling reduces landfill waste by finding ways to reuse materials for daily consumption. Recycled materials are used to make:

Cans = bike and car parts, steel beams
Paper = paper products
Plastics = backpacks, countertops, carpeting
Food scraps = compost, biofuel
