Minor Home Rehabilitation Program (MHRGP)

The City of Menifee offers the MHRGP to qualified very low-income seniors and permanently disabled homeowners, living within the City. In order to participate in the MHRGP, homeowners must meet the eligibility requirements. The MHRGP offers up to $10,000.00 lifetime assistance to eligible Applicants for eligible repairs.

Eligibility Requirement

To qualify for the MHRGP, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1.  Owner-occupant of a single-family dwelling or mobile home at the time of application and have lived in the property for at least one year and

a. Be a senior citizen, 62 years or older, or

b. Be a permanently disabled person, or

c.  Be a permanently disabled person from the immediate family of the applicant(s) residing full-time in the residence

2.  Annual gross income not to exceed 50% of the County of Riverside median income, adjusted for household size:

Eligible Improvements

Participation in the MHRGP allows homeowners to improve their living conditions by making necessary repairs including, but not limited to:

  • Ceiling/Roof Repairs
  • Door/Window Locks
  • Plumbing & Electrical Repairs to be determined by the City of Menifee(faucets, toilets, garbage disposal, leaking pipes)
  • Flooring due to unsafe conditions
  • Heating/Cooling
  • Ramps, Stairs, and Handrails
  • Smoke Detectors
  • Water Heaters
  • Windows
  • Improvements necessary to correct certain building code violations
