The City has project and construction updates to share with the community for the week of May 16, 2022:
Murrieta Road at Newport Road
Daytime work continues on Eastern Municipal Water District’s (EMWD) Murrieta Road Transmission Pipeline Project. While the project remains active, all necessary traffic control will remain in place. Please visit www.emwd.org/MurrietaRoad for additional updates on this project.
Palomar Road at Matthews Road (Case Road) – Storm Drain Improvements
Palomar Road remains open.
Goetz Road – North of Kabian Park – Southern California Edison (SCE) Utility Undergrounding Project
Menifee Road improvements are still underway with intermittent lane closures in the area.
Menifee Road Improvements – North of Matthews Road
Intermittent lane closures and traffic delays should be expected as road improvement work continues in the area of Menifee Road and Matthews Road.
Peacock Place Community Resurfacing – Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project (Complete)
Resurfacing work in the Peacock Place Community has been completed and all roadways in the area have returned to full access.
Murrieta Road and Sun City Boulevard – Traffic Signal Improvements – Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project
Lane closures and detours will continue to be posted as work locations alternate at the intersection of Murrieta Road and Sun City Boulevard. The closure of Sun City Blvd and the west side of Murrieta Road Is set to begin on Monday, May 30. Project construction is anticipated to continue through July 2022.
Scott Road between Menifee Road and Briggs Road – Sumac Ridge Utility Work
Installation of utility connections continues on Scott Road between Menifee Road and Briggs Road with intermittent traffic control.
Potomac and Meadows Resurfacing – Pavement Management Program (PMP) Project
As part of the City’s Pavement Management Program (PMP), streets in neighborhoods north of Potomac Drive and east of Bradley Road, and streets in the neighborhoods east of Bradley Road between La Piedra Road and Holland Road, will soon be resurfaced. Contracted crews are anticipated to perform crack sealing on streets in these areas from June 1 through June 10. Holland Road – SoCal Gas Line Installation
Southern California Gas Company will be installing gas lines on Holland Road in the upcoming weeks. Traffic delays should be expected as traffic control will be in place on Holland Road, west of Murrieta Road, to support the project work.
NEW) Garbani Road and Menifee Road – Traffic Signal Improvements
Work has commenced on the City’s Capital Improvement Project to construct traffic signal improvements at the intersection of Garbani Road and Menifee Road. Drivers should be aware of intermittent traffic control and flagmen in the area as road shoulder grading work and storm drain improvements are performed. The project is expected to be in active construction for several weeks.
