The City of Menifee is excited to announce the application period is open until Monday, December 14, 2020 for its four community-member comprised commissions and committees. Being on a City of Menifee commission or committee gives residents an opportunity to participate in local government and provide direct input on the Menifee community.
There are two publicly appointed commissions—Planning Commission and Parks, Recreation, and Trails Commission—and two committees—Senior Advisory Committee and Measure DD Oversight Committee—all of which provide recommendations to Menifee City Council. Each appointed volunteer member serves a four-year term for City commissions and a two-year term for City committees and must be a resident and registered voter in Menifee. Senior Advisory Committee members must also be at least 55 years old.
Sarah Manwaring, City of Menifee City Clerk, shared the following about the opportunity to participate, “Being a part of a local government commission or committee is an excellent way to see the many facets of how a city is run. Our commission and committee members have direct input on the many policies, procedures, and programs that guide how our city runs.”
A brief description of each of the four commissions and committees is included here, and additional details will be shared about each unique commission or committee throughout the next month during the application period.
