[ARCHIVED] City Facilities Reopen to the Public on Monday, April 12 with Modified Schedule

The City of Menifee will reopen for in-person service beginning Monday, April 12 with a modified schedule, while continuing to provide their innovative virtual services. The City’s reopening plan aligned with the State and County tier structure. With Riverside County now in the Orange Tier, COVID-19 cases steadily declining, and vaccination rates increasing, in-person City services will once again take place at City Hall, Community Services Department administrative offices, and the Menifee Police Department lobby.

Armando G. Villa, Menifee City Manager, highlighted the organization’s innovative approach to serving the community, allowing staff to stay safe and productive whether working in person or remotely. “While City facilities have been closed to the public since the holidays, staff have been busier than ever. Our team prides itself on constantly pushing for the next creative way to provide the best service for Menifee residents, businesses, and developers. We are grateful to the community for taking precautions, getting tested, and getting vaccinated so we are now at a place where we can serve our customers in person as well as virtually.”

Public hours will be as follows:

City Hall (29844 Haun Road):

  • In person with appointment: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Virtual services: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Menifee Police Department Lobby (29714 Haun Road):

  • In person: Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Menifee Community Services Department Administrative Offices (29995 Evans Road):

  • In-person registration services: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Various times for in-person and virtual programming options

Safety precautions have been made at all of the City’s facilities and modifications to keep both the public and staff safe will be in effect as the public is welcomed back inside City buildings. The City is still taking additional precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, even while opening to the public. Approximately 50% of staff work from home at any given time, facial coverings are required in City buildings, plexiglass was installed at interaction points, social distancing requirements are in place, and temperature stations have been installed.

The City is proud to still offer its innovative virtual services in conjunction with the in-person hours. From the very onset of the pandemic, the City of Menifee was able to quickly transition to full “Zero Stop Shop” virtual services in order to keep Menifee moving forward. The City is still encouraging residents and customers to use its convenient virtual “Zero Stop Shop” services and visit the City’s Virtual City Hall webpage, which includes virtual permit resources and information on project processes for all stages of development, as well as information on Community Services programming, and business resources. In addition, enhanced services on the Menifee Permit Portal allows users 24/7 access to submit plans, schedule inspections, make payments, get permits, track their project, and find records all from a single online web platform.

“The City of Menifee is committed to serving the community in the most convenient and safest ways possible. City Council knows that some residents prefer to do business in person and we are excited to be able to do that once again. We are proud of the Menifee community for taking safety precautions so we are now at a place where it is safe to open in person to the public and we thank City staff for the adaptability they have shown throughout the pandemic,” shared Mayor Bill Zimmerman.

The modified public hours will remain in effect until further notice. The City will continue to follow the tiered structure and will update the community as to when City facilities will open with regular hours.
