As the City of Menifee continues the process to update its Housing Element, the City is excited to announce an in-person opportunity to provide input on the 2021 – 2029 Housing Element Update. The update helps set goals, policies, and programs to achieve the housing needs of the Menifee community.
The City is in the initial phase of updating its Housing Element of the City of Menifee General Plan. Information provided through a total of three workshops, online surveys, and interactive maps will help the City identify housing issues most important to the community and address the City’s housing needs for the future. With the input received, the Housing Element will include policies, programs, and objectives reflective of the community to guide future housing growth.
Community Development Director, Cheryl Kitzerow, highlighted the importance of community input in the Housing Element Update process. “The City team is working hard to draft an updated Housing Element that will serve residents in the best way possible for years to come. An adequate supply of quality housing for the entire community is fundamental to the economic and social well-being of Menifee, its residents, and economy. With both remote and in-person options, we hope many residents can be a part of the upcoming workshop,” said Kitzerow.
While the workshop will provide an overview of the City’s Housing Element, its purpose, and the update process, this community workshop will focus on the following items:
- Housing Element Policies
- Results from the interactive mapping activity (Menifee’s Story Map)
- 3D Housing Element Visuals
- Exhibit 6th Cycle Housing Sites
- General Plan Land Use and Safety Element Updates and Environmental Justice overview
