[ARCHIVED] City of Menifee Lights the Night at Unveiling of New Centennial Park Sports Lighting

Centennial Park Lighting Event Invitation

The City of Menifee Community Services Department is proud to officially unveil exciting improvements to Centennial Park (31166 Shire Horse Way, Menifee, CA 92584). The community is invited as the Menifee Community Services Department lights up the night and celebrates new lighting at the Centennial Park sport fields. There will be games with prizes beginning at 7 p.m., a lighting ceremony at 7:45 p.m., and the airing of the evening’s Movie in the Park, Raya and the Last Dragon will begin at sunset. Free popcorn will be provided thanks to Centennial Homeowners Association.

Located off of Holland and Briggs Road, in the southwest portion of Menifee, Centennial Park has quickly become a favorite place for local sports leagues and active families alike. The ten-acre park features a multi-use field, shaded playground equipment, two basketball courts, two baseball fields, covered picnic space, and thanks to recent upgrades to the park, it now includes 15 light towers for the baseball fields and multi-use field. In addition to the field lighting, MuscoVision was installed at Centennial Park allowing the City to broadcast practices and games taking place on the lit fields for family and friends to watch from across town or even around the country.

On Friday, August 6, members of Menifee City Council and Parks, Recreation and Trails Commission will gather at Centennial Park for a lighting ceremony to celebrate improvements to the park. The City invites the entire community to join in the fun! The evening will include an array of activities, guest speakers, and will conclude with our popular Movie in the Park program.

Mayor Pro Tempore Lesa Sobek shared her excitement about the improvements at Centennial Park. “Centennial Park has been a wonderful addition to the Menifee parks system. It will bring years of enjoyment and recreational opportunities to Menifee residents. It has been a priority for me and my City Council colleagues to invest in more lighted sports fields so that our residents have opportunities to hold evening practices and sports games. I am excited we can bring more of these quality amenities to our Menifee residents,” expressed Mayor Pro Tempore Sobek.

We hope to see you there!
