The City of Menifee will commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11 with a Day of Remembrance Ceremony, which will take place at Central Park (30268 Civic Plaza Drive, Menifee CA). Beginning at 6 p.m., the event will reflect on the tragic events that took place that day in 2001 and pay tribute to the lives lost. The evening will include guest speakers, including 67th District Assemblymember and retired firefighter Kelly Seyarto, special presentations, and visual tributes. This event is free to the public and open for all ages.
Flags will be displayed as a representation of the lives lost and historical information will be displayed throughout the walkway of the event venue. Residents can get involved by assisting in placing flags on the field prior to the event. There will also be an opportunity for families to decorate luminary bags and place them throughout Central Park to pay tribute to the lives lost in this tragic event. The night will end with two spotlights cast into the Menifee sky to represent the twin towers.
