Who do I contact if I live in a mobile home park?
California Housing and Community Development maintains jurisdiction over all units located inside a mobile home park.

Who do I contact if I do not live in a mobile home park?
The City of Menifee maintains jurisdiction on all units that are on private property. However, anything pertaining specifically to the interior or the roof of a mobile home unit is still under the jurisdiction of the California Housing and Community Development Department.

Do I need a permit to add a permanent foundation system to an existing mobile home?
Yes

I want to replace my existing mobile home unit with a new one. Do I need a permit even if it is going in the same place as the existing unit?
Yes. You will also be required to receive approval from the Planning Department prior to permit issuance.

I have a mobile home on my property and I want to add a second unit. Do I need a permit?
Yes. You will need to contact our Planning Department to discuss the requirements for adding a second unit to your property.

Is there an age limit on the mobile home unit I wish to install?
No. There is no age limit for mobile homes, however any unit that was manufactured after April 30, 2011 is required to have automatic fire sprinklers installed or retro-fitted per Riverside County Fire Department Ordinance 787. Please refer to the form titled “Fire Sprinkler Requirements.”
